Tonight's concert, organized and produced by Jesus Muñoz and Casa Flamenca, offers a rare focus on MUSIC- specifically the music of legendary flamenco guitarist and nationally award winning composer, Jose Valle "Chuscales." Based in Santa Fe, Chuscales is considered to be the most influential flamenco guitarist currently living in the US. A native of Antequera, Spain, he comes from a long line of gypsy musicians and dancers. His grandmother was among those who lived in the caves of Sacromonte, a legendary cradle of flamenco. He began as a dancer but at age 14, made his professional debut as a guitarist in the tablao "Camborio" in Granada. He has since toured worldwide accompanying such luminaries as Farruco, Joaquin Fajardo, La Tati, El Chocolate, Camaron de la Isla, and Bambino.  Recognized for his deep understanding of Cante Flamenco and improvisational control over rhythm, Albuquerque-based dancer, choreographer, and musical arranger, Jesus Muñoz, who is originally from McAllen Texas, is one of the rising stars in American Flamenco. Introduced to Flamenco 17 years ago by Isaiah Vigil, Muñoz  has produced and directed numerous projects involving world-class Flamenco artists, informing his own Jesus Muñoz Flamenco, which has presented 10 company seasons at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The group's bassist, Yosmel, is originally from Camag├╝ey, Cuba and currently plays with the bands of Arturo Sandoval, Poncho Sanchez, Calixto Oviedo, Jesus Muñoz and Colin Hay. On percussionist and vocals it's Yi Yi ,who began as a child prodigy in Barcelona Spain. He performed with Chuscales in the Maria Benitez Company for 15 years and currently works with Carlota Santana in NYC.  $30/$25 Members & Students
