Inpost Artspace Reception:
"Mountain Talk" paintings by JB Bryan
Artist Statement: In Taos Pueblo they paint their doorways blue, in Korea they paint tigers on the door itself. Art isn’t just for museums but serves the purpose of keeping evil away. I’m not afraid to utter the word “beauty”as in the Navajo sense of the word, Hozho, which includes ethics, spirituality, etiquette and aesthetics. “A state of order, harmony, dynamic balance and well-being— all that makes life pleasant, stable, interesting and worthwhile.” What’s art supposed to be about anyway? I’d like to believe that my work, at heart, is an antidote to warmongering, technological overload, corporate greed, and engineered stupidity. Why not be dedicated to the miracle of a very real planet? “Everything is alive, everything is dancing.” Why not paint songs to the moon?
Exhibit Dates: February 27 - April 1
