Ben Meisner was born in Taos, New Mexico.  An alumnus of the Art Institute of Chicago he was an E.B. Stoeckel Fellow in the Norfolk program at Yale University. He works for the Chinati Foundation and currently splits his time between Marfa, Texas and Albuquerque.  A former Inpost Artspace Curator, he is also co-founder of a new project space in downtown Albuquerque due to August 2010. In his graphite drawings and oil paintings, Meisner slowly crafts and perfects each line and curve to form complex linear rhythms and spatial relationships.  The accumulation of paint and graphite on the surface of the paper or canvas over time yields a dense material presence.
