STEPOLOGY was founded by Director, John Kloss in 2003 in response to the continued need for the preservation and promotion of the American art form known as tap dance.  STEPOLOGY’s “Tap On!” features some of the hottest tap artists of today including Music Director/Dancer Channing Cook Holmes (Riverdance, Gangs of New York, Bojangles); Festival Director John Kloss (Tap Heat); Mark Mendonca (The Polar Express; Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk); Jason Rodgers (Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk); Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards (Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk; Bamboozled); and special musical guest, Santa Fe’s own Bert Dalton on piano. Described as “...an unrivaled and dazzling array of tap talent that invoked an appreciation of tap’s history while inspiring an excitement for tap’s present and future.”(San Francisco Bay Times), STEPOLOGY’s critically-acclaimed, award winning performances continue to redefine audience perceptions of tap dance while infusing this treasured American art form with the energy, rhythms, and velocity of modern day life.  This is tap dance in the 21st century.
