Featuring contemporary weavings from Azerbaijan, this exhibit highlights the revival of traditional techniques nearly lost during the Soviet era. Bold patterns and vibrant colors, hallmarks of the rugs of the Caucasus, are alive once again. Select antiques will be shown as a counterpoint to the contemporary pieces. Weaving materials and background information on the art and history of Azerbaijan will also be presented. Curated by Flo Brown and Duane Bargar of Old World Imports, the show will double as a benefit for the Oupost Performance Space, with 25% of sales donated to the organization.
