Paintings 2003-2009 by Jack Davidson

Jack Davidson uses contemporary materials such as corrugated cardboard and other found/recycled objects. He is engaged in a tradition of storytelling dating back to the beginning of humanity, believing that there is not much difference between the pictography of ancient cultures and the visual language of computer icons; the walls of the Lascaux cave and the visual landscape of monitors and televisions and graffiti and shopping malls. In his recent work, Davidson expresses his feelings toward his joyful and expansive domestic life, and the steady dehumanization of the late industrial period.  Exhibit Dates: February 1- March 26, 2010
