Amy Biehl High School Rico Music Program

Roust the House Teen Performance Nights include music sets from selected local teen bands, solo acts, poets, and dancers of all variety.  Tonight’s show features the work of the Amy Biehl High School’s Rico Music Program under the direction of local music luminary and Amy Biehl teacher, Frank McCulloch (III). A veritable School of Rock, Rico Music involves students in the creation of their own bands from metal to ska, indie or whatever each group chooses to work out. The students are motivated to express themselves musically and practice diligently. Bands featured are The Head Trippers, We Are the Nothing Heads, and Astatine. Amy Biehl High School is a charter school formed in 1999 and located in the historic post office building (built in 1908) in the heart of the Downtown area, at 4th and Gold. This elegant building was remodeled for educational purposes and the high school moved there in January of 2006. The school was named after Amy Biehl, a young woman who attended high school in Santa Fe, and died tragically while working to end apartheid in South Africa.
