Full Circle: Ryan Mals & Danny Moreno
Judy Christopher-Tony Cesarano Trio

Summer Thursday Jazz Nights
Sponsored by Southwest Gastroenterology Associates, PC

Full Circle is a group comprising some of Albuquerque’s finest young talent. Pianist Ryan Mals and saxophonist Danny Moreno joined forces after sharing spots in Jazz All-State high school bands. In 2006 Danny Moreno moved to Colorado where he has been a student in UC Boulder’s jazz program. As the number one All-State jazz pianist two years in a row, Ryan Mals, who graduated from Albuquerque Academy this May, will be composing original music and arrangements specifically for this concert. In Moreno’s absence for the last year, Mals led the piano trio Three to Get Ready which featured Full Circle drummer Chase Ellison, currently a junior at UNM in the Music Performance program. He occupies the top drum chair in the Jazz Studies program and, apart from his work with Full Circle, his resumé includes work with the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, as well as numerous others. Rounding out the group will be a bassist and Special Guest— both TBA.

Judy Christopher and Tony Cesarano have been working together since 2003, performing in a variety of local jazz venues. Originally trained classically, Judy Christopher has been singing professionally since her teens in Chicago. She has extensive experience singing pop/jazz standards (The Great American Songbook) as well as stage work in musical theater. Guitarist Tony Cesarano has been performing professionally since his teens in New York City. He continues to work in NYC annually, as the resident guitarist in the pit at Radio City Music Hall for their Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes. He works not only as a soloist, but also with numerous jazz groups in New Mexico. They will be joined by bassist Michael Olivola who lived and performed in New York City for twelve years where he performed with Larry Coryell, Mike Clark, Dakota Staton, and Charlie Palmieri. He then worked in the San Francisco Bay Area and relocated to Albuquerque in 2006, where he has been very active on the scene.
