THE GOAL: In the year 2000 Outpost Productions launched a $1,050,000 Capital Campaign to ensure its long-term future; to move into the New Outpost Performance Space (many of you remember our old Space— a storefront on Morningside SE); and to make important changes to The Space to provide a comfortable environment for audience and performers alike. We are overjoyed to announce that we have exceeded our goal having raised 1,070,000 in gifts and pledges.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: We are in the New Space at 210 Yale Blvd SE. In addition, we’ve established a more than $500,000 endowment to fund jazz at Outpost in perpetuity as well as a small cash reserve fund. We purchased and refurbished a beautiful Steinway Piano. We purchased new audience seating at The Space. And we just completed building a beautiful new patio courtyard on the south side of the building.

SOON TO COME: Soon The Space will show off a new sound system to improve an already excellent, intimate acoustic environment. In addition you’ll feel (but not hear) a new, efficient (and quiet!) heating and cooling system which will be installed. And there will be an entryway/vestibule to block street noise; plus more. It’s all very exciting and we thank the more than 200 individuals, corporations and foundations who have contributed so generously.

IF YOU STILL WANT TO CONTRIBUTE: Even though we have achieved our Capital Campaign goal, you can still make a one time contribution to our endowment or cash reserve funds. Or you can always certainly make a direct contribution to support Outpost programming. Just give us a call at 268-0044 for more information on any of this.
